RESCUE READYDESIGNED WITH WATER RESCUE IN MIND

Technical Water Operations

Known as the industry leader in the world of “technical water rescue”, Oceanid has redesigned the face of motorized water rescue craft. Following the words all professionals whose business it is to perform in the most treacherous conditions, “Slow is Pro" has become our mantra behind the design of the WERC.

SOLID DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION

The powder coated, aluminum welded, square tubing provides superb structural stability while supporting a team of up to 5. The frame structure supports two fixed seats and a dry box. The operator sits behind a console of gauges in a seated steering cockpit propelled by a 30 HP Mercury engine capable of 25 MPH of safe operating speed. The frame is built with two safety working and recovery platforms on either side of the boat, used as functional tie down points, equipment storage and victim landing platforms. The inflated rigid floor design gives the boat added structure and floatation already rated at 9,000 lbs of positive buoyancy.

DIVE RESCUE OPERATIONS

The WERC allows for a large work area for dive rescue or support operations for sub surface recovery. The boat comes with a fully functional ladder which is in a very functional position for divers. You can never swamp this boat, the open ends disallows any water buildup. This features mimics the RDC with its open ends, capable of accepting and bailing water with no adverse affects on performance or function. The stern opening provides motor access to the water while providing motor protection and frame adjustments to fine tune the crafts operability.

MANEUVERABILITY

The WERC has been tested in upwind and downwind conditions, performing the following maneuvers: J-turns, peel-outs, high-speed turns, shallow approach, slow turn in close proximity, slalom turns and shore approach and docking. Performance was controlled and exceptional with no adverse remarks in function of the boat or motor.
